Now that the old generation and handheld's have been covered, we can focus on the real draw and debate of E3, the next generation. So many questions to be answered and happily we are almost out of time. All three big boys will be swinging this year. Nintendo to prove the Wii isn't a gimmick, Sony has to prove the Playstation 3 is as good as last years E3 demos showed, and Microsoft just needs to push the new line of games in our face so we're not thinking about those other two systems. Any rate, its going to be fun. Here is my eye-catchers of the next-generation gaming.

NEXT-GENERATION (Xbox 360, PS3, Wii)

GEARS OF WAR
Publisher - Microsoft
Gears of War from Epic and Microsoft has the hype to match any other game at this years E3. Let's hope it is playable on the floor, and more importantly that it lives up to it's Halo killing expectations. If any game can beat down a possible no-halo buzz for Microsoft this is the one to do it.
Developer - Epic Games
Genre - Action
Release - Q4 2006
Platforms - Xbox 360

DEAD RISING
Publisher - Capcom
Dead Rising is like a guilty pleasure. Sure its not as huge as some of the others games at E3, but running around a mall, breaking into stores while killing zombies is fun. I've already had a few minutes with Dead Rising a few months ago, so I'll be looking to see if they smoothed out some of the details and kept the zombie brained out gore.
Developer - Capcom
Genre - Action Shooter
Release - August 2006
Platforms - Xbox 360

TOM CLANCY'S SPLINTER CELL: DOUBLE AGENT
Publisher - Ubisoft
Sam Fisher - Next Gen. It's that easy! Here's hoping Sam can live up to the expectations of many die-hard Splinter Cell fanatics. I'm looking forward to a wider look into Sam's next adventure beyond the Prison.
Developer - Ubisoft Montreal
Genre - Action Adventure
Release - September 2006
Platforms - X360/XBOX, PS2/PS3, GC, PC

BROTHERS IN ARMS: HELLS HIGHWAY
Publisher - Ubisoft
Cashing in with our last years Game of Year award isn't an easy task, but BIA captured our gaming ears, eyes, and hearts with its intense new tactical real life approach to the shooter genre. Now Gearbox is bringing us into the next generation of Brothers, lets hope they have another GOTY award on the way.
Developer - Gearbox
Genre - First Person Shooter
Release - Q4 2006
Platforms - Xbox 360, PS3

METAL GEAR SOLID 4: GUNS OF THE PATRIOTS
Publisher - Konami
From what was shown of the new Metal Gear Solid game is impressive and it would be impossible not to want to have a peek at Konami's next generation version of Snake. Guns of The Patriots sounds like its going to blend beautifully with Sony next generation console.
Developer - Kojima Productions
Genre - Action Adventure
Release - TBA
Platforms - PS3

RED STEEL
Publisher - Ubisoft
Red Steel and First Person Swinger perhaps? Well, this along with most of Wii library is a mystery, but if anyone can pull of a revolutionary title for Nintendo its Ubisoft Paris developers of Prince of Persia. I'll be swinging up to this Wii launch title.
Developer - Ubisoft Paris
Genre - Action
Release - TBA
Platforms - Wii

LOST ODYSSEY
Publisher - Microsoft
Lost Odyssey could be a possible candidate to return to E3 next year, given the unclear date and the mystery surrounding this one. Every Microsoft and Finial Fantasy fan is itching to see the birth of japanese Role Playing games on the Xbox 360. My fingers are crossed.
Developer - Mistwalker
Genre - RPG
Release - TBA
Platforms - Xbox 360

Thanks for reading, those are my E3 "Eye Catchers" for the 2006 Electronics Expo. Of course a lot of other games look enticing, but I put them all down it would be listing the whole E3 line-up. Like any gamer its an exciting time and I'm looking forward to the future. - Downtown.
