Best Character In A Game Max Payne
	The best Lead Character award is for the most memorable character in a video-game in 2003. This year's winner isn't a new face to gaming, but he can hold his own with any other character in gaming. On the opposite side of humor and joy is hopelessness and darkness. Extreme Gamer salutes Max Payne from his latest incarnation, The Fall of Max Payne, for being the emotionally challenged guy he is.
Runner-up Voodoo Vince
	Voodoo Vince looks funny and pokes himself. Who doesn't love this little guy who is filled with magical goodness. Vince is a great new character which could grow to be Microsoft's Mario. We love the one eyed stuffed hero and his first game.

Extreme Gamer's Game of 2003 is Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, developed by fellow Canadians, Bio-Ware. They accomplished something that hasn't been done in years: they captured the Star Wars universe and allowed us a glimpse into it. Giving gamers the chance to play in this highly developed world with almost complete freedom, choice of characters, and the morality of playing either a light- or dark-sided Jedi will please any gamer. No one should look past KOTOR, either as a casual or hardcore gamer. You owe yourself the chance to experience the beauty and grace of this game. Much like Halo, this game is an Xbox exclusive, giving you the opportunity to gloat over your PS2-owning friends.
