Introduction:Project Gotham Racing is the first racing game released for the Xbox and of course as a loving car gamers i picked this one up. Project Gotham is a beautiful looking game with some new innovative gameplay. If you enjoy racing games this is still one of the best out for the system.
The Game:The gameplay is more arcadish than simulation, but with the cars being modeled to its real life counterpart it adds a simulation touch to the game. I found the gameplay to have a great balance between that played well during all of the challenges in the game.
Speaking of challenges, Project Gotham with its Kudos system is extremely challenging. I have yet to beat this game and i have played for months and months. There are plenty of modes to access in Project Gotham Racing. The different modes are: Quick Race, Arcade Race, Time Attack, Kudos Challenge and Multiplayer. These modes challenge your driving skill with under many different circumstances. This helps the game not seem stale. Along with all the modes there are different cities and courses to race in and a whole wackola of cars ranging from the Beetle to the Vette. There are tones of racing pleasure wrapped in this box.
Graphics & Sound:They have included the option of using customizable music in Project Gotham. This makes the game so much more enjoyable, racing along to the music you love. Using custom soundtracks is a great option that every game should take advantage of. The graphics are very well done in Project Gotham. There are alot of little things which make you take notice. The brakes heat up when touched; there are skid marks and clouds of burring rubber when you rip around a corner. When raining the rain drops bounce off the pavement. Paying attention to the minor details is what makes this games graphics stand out above the rest. Nice touch Bizarre. :)
Lowdown:Project Gotham is a great racing game, and it has some neat features that you wont find in some other racing games. Although Project Gotham 2 is due out in the near future, pick this one until the sequel arrives. If you want a fast racing game that will give you a challenge pick this one up.
