A Canadian Gamer has alerted police preventing another school shooting in the U.S.

|Update:via Vancouver Sun| A Canadian resident from Port Alberni, B.C. quickly called the authorities after having a conversation during an Xbox Live session (game not mentioned) with a stranger who was having thoughts about shooting up his high school.

Raising alarm bells, the High School student complained about failing grades, and then went on to explain plans to take part in a shooting at his school. After a few concerned questions the conversation abruptly was closed which prompted even more motivation to contact the local police.

After contacting Microsoft Law Enforcement Security they identified the user, determining his location in San Antonio, Texas. The police say his quick action may have averted the high school shooting of a Texas school. The teenage student now faces charges after an investigation.
quote (RCMP Staff Sgt. Lee Omilusik.):

“This incident demonstrates the power of the electronic world and how different enforcement agencies can quickly work together to protect the citizens they serve, regardless of obstacles such as international barriers."
