Introduction:There are basketball games, and then there is NBA Street Vol. II. NBA Street blends basketball, urban style, old school ballers with the current teams, killer interface, great sound and art. This game is on the top of the list for entertainment and great action. Read the review and then go and grab a copy!

The Game:It's basketball, so the game consists of basketball rules. But then it becomes more then just basketball with all the tricks and slammin' style put into the game. You can perform old school high jinks and humiliate players, perform various dunks and other tricks as well. The game pulls these aspects off with ease. The game is really put together! Everything falls into place with grace and style.

The controls are easy to master, although at first it might be overwhelming. You'll get the hang of it! And if you stick it through the matches can become very entertaining with the combos, tricks and other elements. The top two triggers act as turbo buttons and the offence and defense controls are set up for easy play.

Now in NBA Streets you can challenge your skills with other NBA Teams (with your own team or a NBA team) by playing through a season type mode "NBA Challenge", or you can create a player to become a legend of the street! In "Be a Legend" mode. Both gameplay modes are great. You can select your difficulty level, and as the game carries on it will get more challenging which is nice. It seems to be if you start on the easiest difficulty level as your skills increase so with the opposite team. This keeps things real! :) Gotta keep it reeeeeal sucka.

The inclusion of create a player "Baller" is awesome. The characters are funny and have allotted of style either dressed in street clothes, old school skippies or the style of today’s teams. The addition of the afro can make any game great! The clothing, look and skills of the baller can be all customized. Going beyond points for things such as Shoot, Dunk, Block, Handing is the ability to choose your combos and as you gain points in the game, you have the chance to change and improve your character. Very cool!

There isn't really any problems with the game, it flows great. Gameplay is important in sports games and NBA Street pulls it off!

Graphics & Sound:Urban themes are the setting of this street basketball game, and with the streets you would expect a certain look. NBA Streets vol.2 has this look and its killer. The game art is great, a drawing cell shaded quality fits nicely with the game. The old school uniforms are classic and added character modification looks great.

The gameplay runs are a perfect with no hick-ups in the frame rate. The combos are all animated and are sometimes played back in replays and it all just flows along. Perfectly developed graphics in NBA Street. They blended everything together to make a polished product that gives you some style.

The sound is amazing in NBA Street vol.2. The soundtrack is made of old and new hip-hop tracks. It really gels with the graphic style. There is also commentary. Now sometimes the commentary can become annoying in sports games, but the commentary in NBA is well done, funny and it helps to keep the gameplay alive. The best line has to be "Put some ketchup on that chicken burger" What? Now that's jive talking. Excellent job! EA.

Innovation:NBA Street is a step up in the urban basketball realm. The game is innovative in the way it blends the music, graphics and gameplay together. Some might say that’s not an innovation, but to pull it off at this level it has to be. So many other games get on part of the game right, but not the rest. This is a great example of a game that doesn't have to be wildly innovating with crazy features to still hold its own. Although I’m sure something could be added, in which i will have to wait for the follow-up NBA Street Vol. III.

Mojo:Whatcha, Whatcha want! Take the cash to the bank and place all bets on this gem. The mojo is off the hook with NBA Street vol. 2. As you must know now by the review is that Downtown loves this game. It has a style to match my own! Hip Hop, Old School! Funked out masterpiece of Urban B-Ball. All you have to know is that this game is the bomb and it owns the Xbox.

Lowdown:Step one - Turn off your computer.... Step two - Get outta your skippies and go to the store... Step three - Pick up this game and love it... Step four - Get home! Don't shower! Don't Eat! Play the game! Play the game! Play the game!

Needless to say i recommend this game. Even if you don't enjoy basketball all that much, the game is different then TV.. You can enjoy this without being a fan because of one simple reason, it is fun. Pick this sucka up!

Gameplay: 9, Graphics/Sound: 9, Innovation: 8, Mojo: 10. Final: 9
