Crackdown 2 DLC

|Update| Microsoft has announced the first add-on content for Ruffian Games' excellent Xbox 360 exclusive Crackdown 2, due out soon. The DLC is called Toy Box, which offers FREE and paid content.
For free--- we get a new Vehicle Tag mode along with a boost to your ability level-- and the Keys to the City. if you have the extra points and are addicted to Crackdown you might want to consider the full out bundle which offers up 10 new achievements, avatar rewards, and more. Crackdown 2: Toy Box DLC
The Free Stuff
• Keys to the City: Made notorious in the first Crackdown expansion as the ultimate cheat mode, Keys to the City returns to Crackdown 2 and puts an even bigger set of tools at your disposal, including God Mode, Infinite Ammo, Fly Cam, spawning of weapons, gadgets and more, the ability to freeze the time of day, and pushing all skills to the maximum to become faster, stronger and more lethal.
• Level 6 Reward: Fans who reach Level 6 on all Agent skills will be rewarded with the new Thruster Ability. Thruster Ability is like having jetpacks for your boots, giving Agents built-in vertical propulsion to activate flying with the Wingsuit no matter where you are in the game.
• Vehicle Tag: Once you’re done taking down the Freaks and the Cell, join your friends for a thrilling new multiplayer mode where up to eight Agents can compete in these six arenas: Speed is the Quay, Industrial Action, Maim Street, Skid Row, Beachhead and The Sum of Human Knowledge.
Not Free (560MS Points)
• Two New Vehicles: Wall climbing aquatic mini-tank - Agency ATV and the Squad Chopper, which allows four players to jump in and man their own weapon.
• Five New Toys: The Mass Driver (turreted gravity bending weapon), Portable Launch Pads (allows Agents to create their own launch pad jumps), Stickler Grenade (bouncing grenade that sets off smaller explosive charges as it bounces), Thrusters (allow vertical thrust), and Mags on Characters (allow Mag Grenades to be attached to characters).
• Two Avatar Awards: Xbox Green Suit (must complete the Rocketeer Achievement) and Green Helmet.
• 10 New Achievements: Pacific City never sleeps and neither do the exploits. Industrious Agents will be rewarded with 10 new Achievements and 250 Gamerscore.
• Eight Agent Suit Colours: Pick up eight new shades of in-game armour for your Agent.
*Players who have not purchased the premium Toy Box content will only have access to the new vehicles and gadgets during multiplayer games if a friend who has purchased the premium content joins. Downloading Toy Box is not required to continue engaging in other multiplayer gameplay modes with those who have downloaded it.

NHL 11 Demo is Up

|Update:EA Sports | The demo for EA SPORTS NHL 11 demo is now available on Xbox LIVE and the PLAYSTATION Network! Powered by a revolutionary real-time physics engine, the franchise that has won 22 sports game of the year awards over the past three years will showcase two game modes in the demo: Battle for the Cup and the all-new Hockey Ultimate Team.
Battle for the Cup
In Battle for the Cup, players will experience all the emotion and drama of the third period of Game 7 of the Stanley Cup™ Championship between the Philadelphia Flyers and the Chicago Blackhawks. The mode features an all new faceoff system, new quick dekes and the ability to score amazing goals even while lying on the ice.
Hockey Ultimate Team
The all-new Hockey Ultimate Team brings Online Dynasty play to the EA SPORTS NHL franchise for the first time ever. In the demo, players will be able to pick up a starter pack of cards to build their Ultimate Hockey Team. Take your new team to the ice and play against either the Canadian Hockey League’s Windsor Spitfires, or the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks and Philadelphia Flyers. Play and win games in the demo with your Ultimate Team and earn up to two additional packs in the full version of NHL 11, when it is released on September 7, 2010.
The demo will also feature an interactive tutorial that will allow those new to the franchise to learn the controls, and allow long-time fans to practice some of the new controls in the game, including Faceoffs.

Fable III LE Wireless Controller

Sony invades Gamescom

|Update:Gamescom| Andrew House from SCEE kicked off Sony's presser with a new LittleBigPlanet 2 trailer quoting "big drama in a little universe" before heading onto news of their new PS3 bundles, playTV (text during shows). The show shifted back to the games featuring, GT5, inFAMOUS 2, Medal of Honor, and then to PlaystationMove and 3D stuff like Motorstorm Apocolypse. However, the real kicker was from Insomniac Games who showed a Ratchet co-op game where you can play as Ratchet, Clank, Quark and Nefarious-- and the long awaited FPS- Resistance 3. Not too bad, not too bad at all.

EA Rocks Gamescom

|Update:Gamescon| Electronic Arts has just come off a very successful presser at this years Gamescom in Germany. Here's the latest news from EA, PS3 fans you're going to be happy. **Updated 12:37EST**
MASS EFFECT 2
• Mass Effect 2 will make its Playstation 3 Debut in January 2011.
• The PlayStation 3 edition will include the full Mass Effect 2 game and hours of bonus content.
NEED FOR SPEED HOT PURSUIT
• Criterion Games announce a Limited Edition version of Need for Speed Hot Pursuit.
• The Limited Edition features six of the world’s fastest cars that players can use to race and chase their friends, right out of the box. Available at participating retailers at the same price as the standard version, the Limited Edition packs added value for speed junkies, while supplies last.
DRAGON AGE 2
• Dragon Age 2 dated for MARCH 8, 2011

CRYSIS 2

Red Faction the Downloadable Game

|PR:THQ| The geek debate of Mechs or tanks? will be settled on Mars as THQ announces the development of Red Faction: Battlegrounds, the first downloadable title in the history of space-shooter / sci-fi franchise.
Scheduled to explode onto to Xbox LIVE Arcade and PlayStation Network in 2011, Red Faction: Battlegrounds is a fast-paced multiplayer-focused vehicular combat game in which fast-attack vehicles, heavy tanks and combat walkers wreak havoc above ground and beneath the surface of Mars. Staying true to the Red Faction universe, players can demolish anything that stands in their way, from military compounds to enemy vehicles, using advance Martian artillery and explosives.
Red Faction: Battlegrounds is being developed by THQ Digital Studios UK and executive produced by Volition. Secondly, Red Faction: Battlegrounds will rewarded the player with unique bonus content that will be playable Red Faction: Armageddon.

Hmmm, Europe seems like the odd duck, but that's only because they have their own cover. In wrestling logic their box has more star power. Plus it makes sense to have the European Sheamus on the box... no REGAL? The rest of the world get Cena, MIZ and the Big Show? Eh, Not so Hot... It's almost like the Face Boxcover vs. the Heels. Oh well THQ, its not like anyone buys the game because of its cover.

Tony Hawk: Shred

(Try not to cringe- maybe its been improved?)

In addition to skateboarding, aspiring snowboarders can jump on SHRED’s amazing board controller and go crazy in a completely new way – feeling the ultimate rush of shredding down the steep mountain peaks of Whistler, the French Alps and Beijing, China as they launch off huge kickers and pull off crazy spins, flips and grabs.
Tony Hawk: SHRED is in parallel development by two different studios: Robomodo for the Xbox 360; and by Buzz Monkey for Wii. The game will be available at retail this holiday season.
