Mass Effect | Publisher: Microsoft | Developer: Bioware Corp.

Choosing this years winner for Game of The Year isn't an easy task. Each publisher and their respected developers pulled out the aces in 2007. We have seen the retrun of several franchise players like Mario, Ratchet, and Samus along with a list of new projects from talent developers around the world. However, only one can be called the best, and in 2007, Extreme Gamer nominates.... Mass Effect as our Game of the Year.

Developed by the Bioware Corp. (Neverwinter Knights, Knights of The Old Republic, Jade Empire) Mass Effect hype was astronomical as frenzied Bioware fans awaited the promise of a next-generation Bioware RPG. On November 20th, Mass Effect was released to the masses exclusively on the Xbox 360 to rave reports around the net. Digging deeper then their previous releases, Bioware proves that they can still deliver a quality product on next-generation hardware that lives up to the outstanding president they set in their previous games.

Mass Effect is more than an role-playing game, it takes the idea of hybrid action/role-playing game to a whole new level. Feeling more like an interactive story blended wit h gaming elements, Mass Effect feels larger than life. More than a blaster aimed at a robots skull, Mass Effect develers a space oddity that flirts with impactful choices, humanities role in the galaxy, and even inner species romance. Ambitious, and impressive Mass Effect is an experience that rivals that of any other media format. If you have to remember one game from 2007, it's Mass Effect.
