Sony has raised the bar for PSP production in 2006 with the launch of a number of successful first party games that achieved a high concerderation for GOTY. Daxter and Loco Roco both come out on top with the zany and innovative Loco Roco leading the way. Loco Roco is something fresh and interesting for the gaming scene. This wacky simplefied game to tilting Loco Roco's through a pastel maze of colour is brilliant and one of the best games this year.

NEW SUPER MARIO BROTHERS

Nintendo continues to create the best games for their systems which is exactely what a developer should do. Reviving the old original Super Mario Brothers franchise, Nintendo takes another shot and comes up with an updated mirror of its former self. New Super Mario Brothers will take you back to your childhood, then give you some new things to do. Mario has done it again and snags our Nintendo DS Game of the Year Award.

THE ELDER SCROLLS IV: OBLIVION

Picking Oblivion over the massive intense shooters Gears of War wasn't easy and is still very debatable. Both are worthy of Game of the Year, but we can only have one winner and that goes to Bethesda amazing advanture in the fourth chapter of the Elder Scrolls. What gives Oblivion the edge is the dynamics and size of the gaming world. You can do nothing, or explore one of the many quests and still have fun. Even after 80+ hours you will still have adventures that await, and better yet, you'll want to do them.

RESISTANCE: FALL OF MAN

Insomiac's Resistance: Fall of Man might of had an easy victory this year because of lack of original games for the Playstation 3, but that doesn't mean Resistance is mediocare. Resistance takes the traditonal role in the sense of shooters and then varies up the action and pushes the player along at a good pace, then you add the huge online battlefield filled hardcore gamers and you have an expereince worthy of Sony's new console.

THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: TWILIGHT PRINCESS

The Nintendo Wii has taken off in its quarter of being released and some of the success can be assigned to the innovative controls and the other has to goto their favorite lead characters, aside from Mario, Zelda. Link makes his long waited return and doesn't let any Zelda fan down. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is an unique fantasy ride deep into wonderful world of Zelda that retains all the aspects that made this game a hit over the years.
