Crackdown 2 (Microsoft/Ruffian Games)
The original Crackdown was a pleasant surprise that introduced a new style of law enforcement to the Xbox 360. This orb hunting, statistics crunching, co-op action was gaming 'sleeper' hit of 2007, and if we are lucky, we just might have a repeat performance in 2010. Under a new developer ‘Ruffian Games’ (consisting of former Realtime Worlds employees), Crackdown 2 is looking to give us more super-human action in another Agency hunting effort in Pacific City. Crackdown 2 might not be the most sophisticated title on our list, but it could very well be the most fun. I hope that Microsoft does not make us wait too much longer; I can already hear the hum of the orbs buzzing.

Epic Mickey (Disney Interactive/Junction Point Studios)
Mickey Mouse is finally ready to emerge to the gaming world in Epic Mickey, and we could not be happier. Exclusively developed for the Wii, gamers will have something more than another Mario game to look forward to in 2010. This rebranding of sorts will show Mickey in a battle with the rejected cartoon creations in the Cartoon Wasteland. Led by `Oswald the Lucky Rabbit` (Mickey’s Half-Brother) we are about to see another side of Mickey Mouse that is more suited to the gaming world, along with a more mature audience base. Heres hoping Epic Mickey can be just that, epic.

Heavy Rain (SCEA/Quantic Dream)
Quantic Dream’s Heavy Rain might not be the most popular game choice of 2010, but it one of the most interesting release of 2010. Heavy Rain is meticulously detailed gameplay will draw you in as you hunt down the Origami Killer through four distinct characters. Beyond the unique perspective of four vantage points, Heavy Rain depth in narrative, and gameplay should keep you intrigued unlike any game in the past. Quantic Dream wants to change the way we view and play games with Heavy Rain, and if anyone one game will revolutionize the industry; it is the overly ambitious Heavy Rain.

Alan Wake (Microsoft/Remedy Entertainment)
Similar to Heavy Rain, Alan Wake wants to bring you deeper into the action with deep narratives, and intriguing gameplay. Alan Wake is the more `straight up` action version of the two, but both tales of psychological killers have their intrigue. Inspired by Twin Peaks, Alan Wake is sure to give gamers a more bizarre journey than your average action game. Alan Wake creativity interesting take on lighting as a strategic element seems like it will only enhance what is looking like one of the best thriller action games of the year. Scheduled for May 2010, let us hope Alan doesn’t suffer from a case of writers block.

Final Fantasy XIII (Square Enix)
Final Fantasy is one of the longest running role-playing franchises that has stayed relevant as hardware changes and gaming has switched gears away from the traditional formula of the standard role-playing game. Often leading the way in showcasing the immersion of story, strategic combat and breathtaking graphics is the final Fantasy series. Well, Final Fantasy XIII looks like it will finally see the shores on North America when it is released in March of 2009. Interesting enough, Square Enix will be releasing Final Fantasy XIII for the first time on the Xbox 360, along side the Playstation 3 edition. The fanboys might not like it, but I am sure all the Xbox 360 gamers are smiling. The Japanese press already love this one, and Famitsu has rated Final Fantasy XIII with the exceptional near-perfect score of 39/40. If Final Fantasy XIII can score this high with the tough scoring magazine, I’m sure it will be worth the wait.
