PSP GOTY 2010

God of War: Ghost of Sparta
SCEA / Ready at Dawn

The Playstation Portable has had a quiet year, although one release made a little bit more noise then the others, and that title is God of War: Ghost of Sparta. Following in the footsteps of 'Chains of Olympus' Kratos doesn't hold back one bit making 'Ghost of Sparta' a God of War experience that is up-to-par with the rest of the series. Even though we might be more of the same old formula, you can deny the polish and fidelity of this UMD. Ghost of Sparta you're our pick for PSP GOTY.
Review Quote "God of War: Ghost of Sparta packs in an extremely satisfying creature killing experience without any loss of that EPIC 'God of War' feel."

PS3 GOTY 2010

God of War 3
SCEA / SCE Santa Monica

Kratos is a popular this year, snagging the PSP GOTY and now the PS3 GOTY. Although, it wasn't a landslide decision, God of War 3 has come out on the top of the pile, and rightfully so. God of War 3 is wild ride and an sensational bookend to the "Kratos" perspective in the God of War universe.
Review Quote "'God of War III' is a triumph that lives up to the hefty expectations that the studio set for itself-- and more importantly the expectations of the hardcore crowd who has been waiting on Kratos return. ‘God of War III’ doesn’t try overly to innovate by sticking with the formula that made the original games so great-- 'God of War III' only amps this up, and excels."

NINTENDO DS GOTY 2010

Professor Layton & the Unwound Future
Nintendo / Level-5

The Professor returns in the time-traveling tale of the Unwound Future to prove the good ol' Prof. still has the goods. The unwound future is one of the best "Professor Layton" titles we've experienced and tops a very strong list of Nintendo DS tiles released in the year. If you haven't played a "Layton" title yet, what are you waiting for?

NINTENDO WII GOTY 2010

Kirby's Epic Yarn
Nintendo

The Wii started out a little weak in the begging of 2010, but by the end Nintendo had a line-up of smashing titles to make the Wii a contender in multiple categories for this years awards. The one Wii title that stood out above the rest was the Kirby's Epic Yarn. A playful take on Nintendo's iconic pink-puffball. Kirby's Epic Yarn is a wonderful title that can charm even the hardened console gamer. Designed to appeal to all ages, Nintendo really went out of their way to make sure Kirby's debut on the Wii was memorable. Hopefully this is a glimpse into the future because we wouldn't mind another shot at unraveling Kirby's yarn.
Review Quote "Kirby's Epic Yarn is a wonderful surprise. Brilliantly crafted to take the player on a fantastic voyage into a world of patchwork, you will easily fall in love with Kirby's attitude and yarn-inspired esthetics."

XBOX 360 GOTY 2010

Halo: Reach
Microsoft | Bungie

The Xbox 360 GOTY came down to two names in our decision making process, "Halo" and "Alan Wake," both outstanding titles deserving of our award. However there can only be one, and it has to Bungie with their Halo "swan-song" in Halo: Reach. With a strong single player campaign, unlimited customization via Forge and highly addictive online multiplayer it is easy to see why Halo: Reach was such an amazing title. It's a sad tale being Bungie's last Halo title, at least they went out with a bang. Halo: Reach is definitely one of the years best.
Review Quote "Almost everything about Halo: Reach is perfect. The campaign feels great other than a few slow spots and stupid AI - and the multiplayer and matchmaking set a standard that all FPS games should be following. On top of that, the customization that Bungie has given players access to is second to none."

MULTIPLATFORM GOTY 2010

Red Dead Redemption
Rockstar Games | RS San Diego

The multiplatform GOTY goes to 'Red Dead Redemption,' the one title that stood out above the rest. "Red Dead" had a lot to prove to players who expected a simple rendition of "GTA with Horses" and they did it. Either on the Xbox 360 or the Playstation 3, "Red Dead" instantly became at hit and thanks to Rockstar's top quality DLC, it was the one game you still had in your machine a year later... a testament to a great crafted game. Well done Rockstar, who knew you didn't need gats and gangsters to have a good time.
Review Quote "Never before has a game so perfectly captured the essence of the vigilante cowboy - one part honourable, one part ruthless, and a little bit of everything in between."

...and now for the 2010 GOTY -->
